Possible Volcanic Eruption at Selháls │Reykjanes │ Iceland Landscape Photo

by: Rafn Sig,-

After a good long discussions with the elderly this morning, there conclusion was that a potential eruption would occur at Selháls, in Lyngrima and Sprengisandi between Hagafell and Stóra-Skóggfell, just south of Sýlingarfell. There, a long crack would open with many adjacent craters and the lava would float out of them. They thought that the lava would go down between Helgafell and Vatnsheiði and reach the sea at Þórkötlustaðabót.

The eruption would last for several years and would be very good for the tourism industry and the economy of Iceland.

Both Blue Lagoon and the Geothermal Power plant in Svartsengi will escape with major damage.

They didn’t want to say when the eruption would start. (Then one of them said “if it will start” and laughed)

After listening to them, I decided to go immediately and explore the surroundings, start the documentation with both Photos and Videos and explore what would be my next steps so I could have both before and after the volcanic eruption. I found out that I need to go few times from different directions, because the area is big and I dare not wait as we never known when the eruption will start, if it ever will be.
