Sauðárgil er falin gimsteinn sem er á leiðinni inn í Þórsmörk. Gilið er með þröngt op svo það fer ekki ýkja mikið fyrir því og erfitt að sjá þegar keyrt er það framhjá. Út úr þessu þrönga opi rennur áin Sauðá. Oft má sjá falleg Grýlukerti þarna inni að vetrarlagi og geta þau orðið mjög há. Birtan þarna í gilinu getur verið afar sérstök.

Sauðárgil is a hidden gem that is on the way to Þórsmörk. The gorge has a narrow opening so it is difficult to see when you drive past it. The Sauðáriver flows out of this narrow opening. You can often see beautiful Icicle candles in there during the winter and they can be very high. The light there in the gorge can often be very special.
