Mud pool Geyser from above │ Iceland landscape photography

Documenting Iceland (2020)

by: Rafn Sig,-

I went to one of my favorite places to photograph.
I really love it cause the photos I get from there are so out of this world.

As you can see, this is a geothermal area and I’m using my Drone to fly straight over it so I can see what’s happening inside the mud pool. The only problem of doing that is the risk I’m taking losing the drone straight into the pot if it falls down and not be able to get it again.

This muddy Geyser is in a middle of a big soft clay area so it is impossible to photograph it standing on a solid ground and impossible to walk near it, so actually this is the only way.

The height of my drone from this hot muddy pot is about 2,5 meters, so its relatively small.

The area is close to Reykjanes lighthouse and is collectively named . . .
